"Moonshadow" 25.5" X 48" Unframed

Moonshadow measures 25.5" x 48" and is unframed, hand-stretched cotton with the sides painted and ready to hang. With each painting, I seem to be running into a lot of firsts. For me, this was my first time painting snow at all. To add to the challenge, shadows appear very different at night than during the day.

It was intimidating at first to start his piece, but once I got going, the progress just flowed. Hours went by that felt like minutes, and the process of this painting ended up being a real joy.

While working on the under painting for this piece, Cat Stevens' Moonshadow came on and I knew what I had to title it.
